DAY | SOUTH COAST: WATERFALLS AND BLACK BEACHES Highlights today include the spectacular Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. With the frozen slopes of Myrdalsjokull glacier as a backdrop, admire the black beaches of Vik and dramatic cli s of Cape Dyrholaey. En route visit the Lava Centre in Hvolsvollur. DAY | GEYSERS, GULLFOSS AND NORSE HERITAGE Get an early start for the Haukadalur geothermal eld and the world famous Strokkur geyser and Gullfoss waterfall. Then make your way to historic Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland’s ancient parliament (the Althing) met between 930 and 1799 AD. The day ends near Borgar ord on the west coast with an overnight in another typical Icelandic country inn. DAY | WEST COAST: BORGARFJORD TO REYKJAVIK Borgar ord is home to Hraunfossar waterfall as well as the earth’s largest hot springs – Deildartunguhver. Driving via the Hval ordur, you should reach Reykjavik around noon.
