Day 1 Reykjavik

Day 2 Snaefellsnes
Often called “Iceland in Miniature” because of its diverse landscapes, the Snaefellsnes area is home to bird-rich Breidafjordur Bay and Snaefellsjokull glacier. This glacier sits atop of a 700,000-year-old dormant volcano that was featured in the Jules Verne novel Journey to the Center of the Earth.
-
Day 3 Isafjordur
Today‘s destination is Isafjordur, an idyllic town in the Westfjords region. This secluded peninsula is connected to the Icelandic mainland by only a narrow strip of land and includes many roadless areas where cars have never been. The landscape includes jaw-dropping views of dramatic fjords carved by ancient glaciers, sheer table mountains that plunge into the sea and pristine North Atlantic vegetation.
-
Day 4 Siglufjordur/Flatey/Husavik
This morning we reach the town of Siglufjördur, once the center of the herring industry. During an optional visit to the local herring museum, you will relive the golden age of the "herring boom". In the early afternoon, we stop at the small island of Flatey, where the local bird life is particularly good to observe. Flatey is a natural paradise for birds and home to Arctic terns and puffins. Towards evening we reach Husavik, the whale capital of the north.
-
Day 5 Husavik
Husavik is often called the “Whale watching capital” of Iceland, the town’s offshore waters are home to 15 different whale species, as well as dolphins and 30 varieties of birds. Watching these graceful ocean giants in their Arctic habitat is an unforgettable experience.
-
Day 6 Seydisfjordur
Iceland’s East Fjords are best explored from the impossibly picturesque port of Seydisfjordur, nestled between the sea and steep mountains. Optional activities include seal spotting, horseback riding, and visiting the beautiful sights of the Eastfjords.
-
Day 7 Djupivogur
The fishing village of Djupivogur is today’s starting point to explore Vatnajokull Glacier (optional). Go on a four wheel-drive Jeep tour (optional) or take a boat trip in the Jokulsarlon glacier Lagoon (optional). Icebergs of all shapes and sizes are floating in the water - an unforgettable adventure.
-
Day 8 Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands)
Located off Iceland’s South Coast, the Westman Islands were formed by submarine volcanic eruptions around 10,000 years ago. We go ashore on Heimaey, the only inhabited island, where half-buried houses remain from a violent 1973 eruption.
-
Day 9 Reykjavik
After breakfast we bid farewell to the SEAVENTURE as we sail back into Reykjavik. Optionally there is the possibility to book our Air & Ground package. The trip is then extended by one night in Reykjavik and includes the bus excursion Adventure South Coast, where you get to know fascinating natural wonders, such as the waterfall Skogafoss or the black beach Reynisfjara with its basalt formations. You can also book one of our post programs to discover more of Iceland, e.g. on a car tour through South and West Iceland (on request).
