  • General Information Shore Excursions This year we have put together an exclusive shore excursion package for you, which you can purchase at a reduced price up to 4 weeks before departure. By booking the shore excursion package, you save USD 120 compared to the individual excursion prices. The price for the shore excursion package is 1,110.- USD.The excursions included in the shore excursion package are listed in the descriptions. After the deadline of 4 weeks before departure, our excursions can only be booked individually and are no longer available as an excursion package at a reduced price.
    • Quality of the bus

      Buses in Iceland are generally comfortable and in excellent mechanical shape. However, they often operate in extreme driving and weather conditions. Dust that enters the buses while driving on gravel tracks cannot be avoided. Toilets are not available on the buses, but ample comfort breaks are scheduled for each excursion. You can leave your backpacks or extra clothing on the bus during tours - they are locked at every stop.

    • Guides

      All shore excursions organized by Iceland ProCruises take place in English.
      However, there might be a bilingual excursion (in German and English). All our guides are experienced, very knowledgeable about the country and people, and are in constant contact with our head office in Reykjavik.

    • Itinerary

      Strong winds, snow or even rain can affect our excursions. Although we always try to stick to the published itinerary, the route and stops can change depending on the weather and road conditions. Sometimes parts of a road or even an entire road can be blocked. We reserve the right to make changes.

    • Changes/Cancellations through Iceland ProCruises GmbH

      Due to weather and sea conditions, the number of participants, or cancellation by local service providers, Iceland ProCruises GmbH reserves the right to change the prices, duration and content of the excursions or even cancel them. Please note that the order of sights may vary from the following descriptions due to high traffic volumes or other organizational reasons.

      The minimum and maximum number of participants for each excursion is stated below. If minimum numbers are not reached, we may cancel the excursion on short notice.

  • Arnastapi A small town situated on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland.

      Due to its diversity of landscapes and places of national interest, the Snaefellsnes Peninsula is often called “Iceland in miniature.” This excursion includes a drive through beautiful scenery, lava fields, black sand beaches and impressive glaciers. You have a stunning view of Snaefellsjokull Glacier, the dramatic rock formations of Snaefellsnes, as well as the Londrangar rock pinnacles, which are remnants of a large volcanic crater. In the summer months (mid-April to mid-August), a huge variety of birds can be seen. En route, you also visit the Shark Museum in Bjarnarhofn.

  • Isafjördur The largest town in the westfjords

      Discover the beauty of Iceland’s mystic Westfjords, which is a very sparsely populated area even for Iceland. Experience breathtaking wilderness, high summits and beautiful, deep fjords. Along the way, you will visit a typical Icelandic village, where you will also have lunch. Another highlight of this tour is the magnificent Dynjandi, the highest and most impressive waterfall in the Westfjords region. It consists of six different cascades that flow into a large fan-shaped waterfall. Its impressive height of 328 feet and width of 196 feet make it a spectacular natural beauty.

      Drive into the Isafjordur Djup (bay) and explore the area. See seals down by the shore line and visit an old turf farmhouse built in 1890. Get a panoramic view from the top of a mountain over the largest fjord in the area and the mountains all around. Along the way, we visit the famous salt factory “Saltverk”, where they hand harvest sea salt using geothermal energy. We also stop at the local chocolate factory “Saett og Salt”, where you can get a taste of Icelandic chocolate. Last but not least, you get served lunch at a local´s home.   • Siglufjördur A small fishing town in a narrow fjord on the northern coast of Iceland

      Dive into the golden age of the herring boom at the award-winning Herring Museum. The era played an important role in the history of the Icelandic equal rights movement because women got more opportunities to work outside of the home, side by side with men on an equal basis. The museum‘s five exhibits illustrate the history of the industry, the processing of the herring into meal and oil, a fish freezing plant and a waterfront dock area where visitors can stroll past eleven different fishing vessels on display. A live herring salting demonstration – with traditional songs and dances performed by the local “Herring Girls” – brings the spirit of old herring plants to life.

  • Husavík Day 1 The hot spot for whale watching

      The whale watching capital of Iceland, Husavik, is where you can see the gentle giants at close range. The speedboats (RIB) are not only adventurous and fun but also offer us the opportunity to look for whales faster and more agile, while the traditional OAK boat is more comfortable but no less exciting. With both options, you have a very good chance of spotting whales. Look forward to an unforgettable whale watching tour.

      Enjoy one of the most beautiful areas of Northern Iceland. The unique landscape is fascinating on its own.   • Seydisfjördur A town in the eastfjords of Iceland

      This tour is a unique opportunity to visit one of Iceland’s rarest places - the forest Hallormsstadur. The tour begins with a drive to the forest followed by a short walk.   • Djupivogur An Icelandic fishing town in the south-eastern part of the country

      This tour takes you to the magnificent Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Huge blocks of ice constantly break off the Breidamerkurjokull Glacier and large icebergs float on the lagoon. The lagoon is not very wide, but it is up to 750 feet deep, which makes it the deepest lake in Iceland. Sail among the huge icebergs and the picturesque scenery of Jokulsarlon with a specially equipped boat for approximately 35 minutes.
